Panthers season ended at New Glarus

Iowa-Grant's volleyball team had its season ended at New Glarus in the first round of the WIAA Regionals.
Scores for the sweep by the Knights were: 19-25, 13-25, 14-25.
"We did a good job starting the first match out, playing smart offense, hustling on defense and staying with New Glarus for most of it," said coach Marla Simon. "We were back and forth and tied at 15-15. A couple of our later rotations we did not score very well and lost our chance to stay with them."
"In the second set we got behind by 5-6 points, and made a few too many errors with our offense" Simon added. "They were also starting to find their groove and we had a hard time stopping their outside crosscourt hit and quicker offense out of the middle.."
Simon said that held pretty similar for New Glarus in the third set.
"But, our ladies never quit - hustling and picking up balls the best they could," said Simon. "We want to thank our seniors - Makayla Pilling, Mallory DiVall and Jackie Hawes, along with our two senior manager - Britney Koehn and Arianna Barr, for keeping this team together in the past few weeks of the season. It's always tough to play that last match or game or whatever, as a senior - reality starts to set in. But these ladies worked hard to keep our team together to the finish."
Iowa-Grant Stat leaders:
Kills: Makayla Pilling - 7, Elizabeth Volenec, Julia Searls - 3

Aces: Lakyn Holman - 2
