The battle continues. Iowa County is winning. Strong warriors are fighting against COVID-19. Some of these soldiers have been fighting nonstop for a full year. The soldiers are males and females. Perhaps they are weary or energized. Maybe they are older or younger than you. These hometown heroes are community members. A soldier might be a single individual or among a group of people owning or operating area businesses. Many are employees at businesses. Many form the healthcare systems in Iowa County. One fact stands out. They want you to beat the virus. They are doing all they can to win the war against COVID-19.
Consider Lands' End and its generosity in allowing the Iowa County Emergency Management team and the Iowa County Health Department to conduct effective and ongoing vaccination clinics at the Comer Center. Upland Hills Health efficiently vaccinates people at Upland Hills Hospital in Dodgeville. Its team of healthcare professionals and volunteers work tirelessly. Walgreens and Corner Drug Hometown Pharmacy receive a small supply of vaccines when available. The state adheres to strict guidelines when releasing vaccine supplies to counties. In turn, the counties must follow strict vaccination parameters the state has provided. The bottom line is that vaccine supplies are limited, subject to availability, and offered to recommended groups at designated times in a tiered system.
Another business has stepped to the battlefront. Vortex Optics recently donated funds to feed the workers at community vaccine clinics. So many people are helping. It's amazing and heartwarming! Keep in mind that some businesses or people might remain anonymous when helping. Iowa County is proud of its heroes.
Thank you, hometown heroes and warriors. We appreciate you and admire your strength and resolve. Thank you, leaders, for running the vaccine clinics. Thank you, healthcare systems, for vaccinating the public. Thank you, volunteers, for being part of the army tank that is obliterating the enemy. Thank you, people in Iowa County. Our sights are set on VICTORY.
We can win. Keep your spirits up!
