Is safety no longer an issue?

Dear Editor;
I'm sure we all remember the fear at the start of the pandemic. Loved ones from all around the world were dying, and still are today. Signs were soon put up at all businesses, requiring a face mask to enter and to remain socially distant. Months later, these signs still remain on the front door of many businesses. Yet, as I enter a few establishments in Dodgeville, a face mask is nowhere to be found on any employee. How can anybody disregard such a simple task, which might save many people from a horrible illness? I try to not be angered, but it almost seems to not be a problem at all for lethargic employees at certain area businesses, as if keeping patrons safe is too much trouble for them. I will not publicly slander the names of these businesses, but organizations like this are frequent in the area. I am not sure how they have not been shut down in some form. We are failing to realize that we are not done with the pandemic yet, and people are still being impacted by it every day.
