Dear Editor;
Why are we so backward? Wisconsin is one of only 12 states that won't accept a federal expansion for Medicare (Badgercare). This is ridiculous. We are already paying for those funds with our taxes. Why not use them? Accepting the funds would help our rural hospitals stay in business, and would help so many Wisconsinites who have been struggling financially through this last very difficult year.
I would really like to see Rep. Novak put his constituents' welfare above his party's position, and push for accepting expanded Medicare funds.
