I guess I'm forced to say some good things about the "Not So" Quality Bakery. They have been really helpful with "sweets" for the concession stand not only this year, but other years! Why even Brian was "fairly" congenial to me Saturday! Mike would be yelling at him for being that way though! See a sample of some of their "sweets" in the above photo.

Brother Pat and I got to go to the Elevation Dance Academy of Spring Green's recital "Life Itself" Saturday night at the Sugarland Wedding Barn just east of Arena. It was a "Senior Showcase" and one of the senior performers was Emma Berg, Pat's granddaughter and daughter of Nick and Amy Berg. Emma choreographed her own solo dance and assisted in choreographing the finale dance. She is going on to school at Western Michigan University to major in dance and minor in business.

Sunday was Mother's Day. I noticed on Major League Baseball.com that they saluted a Mother/Son profession baseball players that day. There are a lot of Father/Son professional baseball players, but only one Mother/Son. That would be Casey Candaele (Montreal Expos, Houston Astros, Cleveland Indians and now minor league manager) and his mother Helen Callaghan, who played in the All-American Girls Professional League. Casey said he wishes he had her talents!

I messed up not stopping for a woman and her dog that I didn't see standing at the corner of a street downtown waiting to cross. To my defense they had just gotten to the corner, but I should've been watching them approaching it. To make up for that I have since stopped for four people crossing in the middle of the street! My bad though!

Don't forget to plan for a couple of June events. First there's the Drive-thru Iowa County Dairy Breakfast at the fairgrounds in Mineral Point on Saturday, June 5. That same day will be Montfort's"Big Days." That will also be on Sunday. Another event to plan for will be the first of two summer Dodgeville Lions Club Antique and Flea Market Shows held at Harris Park in Dodgeville on Sunday, June 13. Both events, as do all planned for this summer, need a lot of support to try and make up for not having them last year!
