Panthers go deep to handle Benton

Julia Searls and Ashley Runde played rangefinder with the basketball Monday and accounted for seven three pointers to guide Iowa-Grant past Benton for their second win of the season.
Searls drilled four three pointers and Runde chipped in three for the Panthers. Runde finished as the high scorer with 13 and Searls hit 12.
The Panthers cruised to a 19-14 halftime lead and ran to a 26-18 advantage down the stretch.
Taylor Mowry was the main scoring threat for the Zephyrs with 11 points.
"This was a good win for the girls," said coach Melissa Martinez. "We hit a few early threes to gain momentum and then hit baskets late to extend the lead."
"We got good contributions all around," Martinez added. "The girls earned this and deserved the win tonight."
