Dear Editor;
I am a firm believer that everyone's vote should count. In that light, each Wisconsin voter deserves a nonpartisan voter map drawing process for redistricting in Wisconsin. Referenda and resolutions throughout the state demonstrate that over 70 percent of Wisconsin voters want nonpartisan maps for choosing our legislators.
Gerrymandering, which draws maps according to party lines, hurts democracy; all Wisconsinites deserve to be heard by their elected representatives, and all representatives should be held accountable by their constituents.
I do not want our communities divided into partisan voting districts. I am asking you and all of us to support an independent, nonpartisan and transparent map drawing process for 2021[FAIR MAPS] and include public hearings.
