Barneveld plays with passion in loss to Mount Horeb

Being in Dane County the Mount Horeb boys basketball team has to play their games on the road and Thursday they only had to travel eight miles to Barneveld.
It turned out to be a good experience for both teams.
For the Golden Eagles it was a strong outing with a lead at halftime, some scoring balance and staying in it until the visiting Vikings prevailed, 43-36.
For the Vikings it was finding a scoring threat as Tarin Hannah put in 28. He scored all but 15 of the points for the night for Mount Horeb. Hannah had 13 points the first half and 15 the second.
The Eagles got 10 points from Trendan Barsness and nine from Chase Ignatius. They had seven players score in the effort.
Barneveld coach Tyler Sullivan was bursting with pride at the effort put up by the Eagles.
"I really felt like we came with a renewed energy tonight," Sullivan said. "I didn't feel like we played with much passion or energy against Dodgeville on Tuesday, but tonight our guys brought it. We still struggled at times to score, but I loved the way our guys competed defensively. Every possession matters in these big games against bigger rival schools, and Mount Horeb won a few more possessions tonight. But as I said earlier, I really hope this propels us into the last half of our conference run."
"The fight our guys played with tonight showed me we can compete with anyone," Sullivan said. "Our guys just need to believe it. I know we came up short tonight, but I could see the belief building."
