I just can't just "sit" on this, I have to speak out. With rising prices of practically everything, my question is: "Who comparison shops anymore?" For one, my son does (a great job).
I was looking online today for a shelf-stable food item. I looked at the exact same item on 2 MAJOR sites.
On site #1, the cost ranged from $2.76 - 11.93 for a single can. Other one can entries stated: "out-of-stock" and "check availability nearby." Prices for a 2-pack ranged from $18.58 - 29.56.
On site #2, the cost for a 2-pack was $18.98. 3-pack prices varied from $21.31 - 34.95. $26.04 would get you a 4-pack. And 6-pack prices ranged from $21.96 - 27.01.
I admit that I probably have more time than many other shoppers. BUT the cost DIFFERENCE to me is astounding!
Whether you're looking on a website or at the store*, the price is most often "broken down". For example: $2.88 or 21.3¢/oz. (And "larger" is not always less expensive.)
*on the sticker on the shelf below the product I am NOT (at all) a believer in the concept of BUYER BEWARE.
