Masks in schools no more

To the Editor:
I recently received an email from the Dodgeville School District Superintendent regarding masks being worn in school. The Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled Gov Evers does not have the emergency power to put a mask mandate in place and it would be up to the local govt to make that decision. The email from the school said that kids, teachers and visitors must still wear masks as this policy was put in place in Sept of 2020.
But after this ruling, Iowa County and many other surrounding counties are NOT enforcing a mask "mandate." So, according to the Supreme Court, if the local govt doesn't enforce the "mandate" (not a law) then people do not have to wear one.
The teachers have all been vaccinated. It has been shown that young people are not affected by the virus as the elderly. However, after a whole year of preaching this, the Democrats are now trying to convince people that young people are filling the emergency rooms now more then those over 65. They didn't come down with the virus for an entire year but all of a sudden they are the ones affected. And 6 ft used to be the "rule" for kids in school and now after a whole yr of preaching this they change it to 3 ft. The virus is still here, they say, but to fit their narrative they change the rules and parameters a whole yr in. Doesn't hardly make sense to me. Now they want to vaccinate kids. No thank you.
I respect choice for all. If you feel safer wearing one then, by all means, go ahead.
My son will not be wearing a mask. This nonsense needs to end. If you're going to preach something "scientific" then be consistent in your preaching. I choose to not believe what they are selling because, in my view, this is all just one big fluid political situation. If you agree then you better speak up before a permanent covering is literally put over your face.
