Thoughts on the Presidency

Dear Editor:
Two weeks ago, the 44th President addressed the DNC. A few sentences in he said and I quote, referring to the Constitution, "It wasn't a perfect document". No one ever said it was, but it has served us well until lately. Most Presidents have refrained from demeaning their predecessors or successors, but not 44. He went on to suggest that the President was creating a reality show and was only in it to garner attention. I believe the shoe is on the other foot. The 44th was someone who surrounded himself with "celebrities" to adore and be adored by. Presidents don't need to be rock stars and I believe Donald Trump received attention long before 2016. Obama also stated that Trump was only in it to enrich himself and his friends. Really! Who left the Presidency considerably richer than when he started?
A few other thoughts: Many say Trump is presidential. Is it presidential to go to other countries and belittle the country he is supposed to be the leader of (The Apology Tour) or use your administration to spy on a presidential candidate and then President elect? President Trump lies. In the past, candidate promises were just that, but in Trump's case they are called lies. Fast and Furious, Benghazi, IRS, Libya gun running, outing Seal Team 6, Trump's Russia collusion were all paragons of truth and honesty in the Obama/Biden world.
In closing, Make America Great Again and America First, should have been inspirational phrases but were irrationally ridiculed. Obama vowed to fundamentally transform America and reiterated by Biden/Harris, resulted in the upheaval currently besetting this country, which WAS the end goal.
