We know this isn't easy

This was in response to the lawsuit set in place by the Wisconsin Tavern League, followed by the emergency order being blocked.
There may be people who may not agree with my thoughts, but at this point, my opinion is just that, my opinion.
We have to realize this one simple fact. We are dealing with a novel virus and the more we keep fighting orders that are intended to protect our people, the more problems arise.
We also need to realize that we can no longer say that "we haven't had any COVID-19 related deaths in Iowa County."
Last Wednesday, we unfortunately hit that milestone, a milestone no one wants to hit. Iowa County has experienced its first loss directly related to COVID-19. All I can say on that is this: the family has my deepest condolences on the loss of their loved one. I send nothing but healing vibes and well wishes in the days to come.
Emergency orders aren't put into place simply because people don't like people, and they aren't meant to help a certain political party earn votes. They are there for a reason: to give our citizens a fighting chance to get better.
Is the order perfect, most likely not, but does it have a good purpose? Yes.
It's not an easy process, and no matter what decisions are made, people are not going to be happy.
We have to learn to come together, despite not agreeing with each other. There has been too much hate on both sides, and I find it downright disappointing.
After all, we can't be free people if we aren't healthy people.
