Dear Editor,
In November of 2014, I became a victim of the grandmother scam - granddaughter in Brazil and needed money.
I sent money twice through Western Union. Then I read the article in the Chronicle about how I could file a claim to get my money back. With the help of my daughter, we filed a claim. After many phone calls and some more paper work, on October 1st, 2020, I received a check in the full amount I had paid.
Many, many thanks for your informative article in The Chronicle. Without your information, I would have never had known I could file a claim.
