Dear Editor:
I think it's a good idea for all of us to think seriously about why we are voting for a particular candidate.
I am voting for an empathetic leader who does not demonize every opponent. I am voting for someone who respects the truth and does not traffic in conspiracy theories and endless falsehoods. I am voting for someone who honors the Constitution and who agrees to abide by the results of the election.
I am voting for the First Amendment, for the vital role of the press and for peaceful assembly. I am voting for quality health care so babies can thrive after they are born. I am voting for someone who respects the environment and the science behind climate change. I am voting for a leader who can work effectively with our allies and not cozy up to every despot.
I am voting for a President who is more interested in the future of the country than in his personal future. I am voting for clear-headed leadership grounded in medical expertise so we can get out of this pandemic without thousands more Americans dying needlessly. I am voting for Joe Biden.
