Dear Editor:
OK FOLKS - the increasing COVID infections in our state is quite alarming and very concerning. WI is currently one of three states in our nation with high increasing cases. As of the 22nd of this month WI has a whomping 124,000 cases - WHY?
Well - one example - look at the Sports section of our Chronicle last week. Pecatonica/Argyle Football team, Volleyball and Cross Country teams are not wearing masks! Then take a ponder at Iowa Grant, Barneveld and Highland - NO MASKS! NBC news, Friday night at 10pm, show clips from different High Schools. It's their Football Blitz. Watertown Lutheran Prep was highlighted. The bleachers were packed full of students - not a mask in sight! So, we are not alone in our ignorance. Wear a MASK!
Come on people, even Pro Sports teams are wearing masks! We need to get a clue here! Wear a MASK!
It's not just our sports - Walmart - Piggly Wiggly - Qwik Trip - Everywhere - Anywhere - Wear a MASK!
We have a 'mask mandate' in our state! HELLO!? This mandate is not about our 'rights as humans'. This is about respect and consideration for our fellow human beings - our neighbors - our friends - our families! We are Wisconsinites for Heaven's sake! We care about others and each other! Do we want this virus to last forever - I think NOT! Wear a MASK!
PS: Kudos to Dodgeville/Mineral Point teams! Thank you for your consideration! Way to be! Keep wearing your MASKS!
