Cardinals sweep up the Comets

Highland's sweep of Cassville Thursday to complete a busy Homecoming week of volleyball had many highlights to go along with the win.
"We got to play everyone and they all contributed" said a happy coach Maria Wineski. "We really played great as a team. It was a nice way to top off a busy week and on top of that it was Homecoming."
Net play was strong for the Cardinals as Myah Hennessey recorded 15 kills, Rachel Miller 10 and Katelyn Mueller nine. Miller also had a pair of aces and Mueller three blocks and two aces.
Harper Drury and Estee Goodwiler handled the setting with Drury recording 21 assists and Goodwiler 19. Drury also had a pair of aces.
Meg Tarrell saw her first action as she had been recovering from a broken foot and had three kills.
"It was nice to get her back on the floor and we are working her back into the rotation," Wineski said.
Macey Kraisinger had 16 digs from her libero position.
Mya Tarrell and Tristan Imhoff got in some time in the back row and worked their way up to set where they both served an ace.
Jenna James knocked down a pair of kills while Kaitlyn Esser and Malayna Fredericks both added one. Jenna Shemak also saw some time at right side hitter for the Cardinals.
In JV play the Cardinals played a pair of sets with the young Comets and fashioned a split.
