Cardinals fall in five to Potosi

Tuesday night was not a good night for the Highland volleyball team.
The only explanation was they were just off. The did not quit but whatever they tried did not end up working.
So, Potosi took the match 3-2 in some up and down sets for Highland.
Potosi took the first set 25-20 then it was Highland's turn 25-20. Potosi had a big run early going up 8-0 then trimmed the Cardinals 25-8 in set three. Set four came back Highland's way 25-13 to set up a fifth set.
The finale went to the Chieftains 15-11.
Rachel Miller came up with 17 kills, one block, nine digs and an ace for a complete performance.
Kaitlyn Mueller added five kills and contributed four blocks and an ace.
Harper Drury had two kills, an ace, six digs and 11 assists.
Estee Goodwiler led in assists with 22 while adding an ace and eight digs.
Libero Macey Kraisinger turn in 14 digs.
The Cardinals will travel to River Ridge Thursday.
With the ending of the volleyball season still in the question mark stage the Cardinals are waiting for information going forward. One thing they do know is their seeding meeting is next Wednesday.
If COVID does not halt the season there is a possibility for Sectionals and maybe state at a different site for all divisions.
Stay tuned.
