Dear Editor:
I'm voting for someone who actually knows how to govern. For someone who knows how to be a leader. For someone who knows the meaning of decency. For someone who doesn't lie on a daily basis about big things, small things, and everything in between.
I'm voting for someone who doesn't say, "I don't think science knows." Well, at least his first three words were absolutely true.
I'm voting for someone whose word isn't as worthless as a used piece of toilet paper.
I'm voting for a woman's right to choose what to do with her body. I'm not voting for the Second Amendment, I don't have to.
Two thirds of the states aren't suddenly going to say, "Oh, hey let's get rid of the Second Amendment."
I'm voting for someone who will protect healthcare and social security. For someone who knows the value of the U.S. Post Office.
I'm voting for a person that will appoint people who are qualified for the positions they're put in.
I'm voting for a person who truly respects the military, veterans, and the flag, yet doesn't feel the need to wrap himself in the flag as though it is a shroud of turin.
I'm voting for someone who isn't going to spend a year playing golf. I'm voting for a person who values our allies, remember them. They're our allies. We help them and they help us.
I'm voting for freedom and the American dream. I'm voting for good against evil.
I'm voting for democracy and not fascism and racism. Years ago while doing some genealogy research, I came across a quote in a Darlington newspaper from the early 1900s which is arguably more fitting now than it was then. "In today's politics, the scum is being mistaken for the cream."
