Thank you for volunteering

Dear Editor:
At the past Mineral Point Opera House board meeting, we accepted the resignation of 2 board members; Lauren Powers and Mike Wagner. Both have been intrumental (pun intended) in the resurgence and guidance of this treasured landmark. I bring this up as much for their dedication as for their volunteerism. Our little town would be lost without our volunteers.
Lauren has been involved with the MPOH for over 12 years, was on board to help raise $1,300,000.00 for the remodel in 2008-2009, and has been president for 10 years. This alone, was a daunting task, one that she took seriously....and her diligence has paid off. She has assembled a wonderful and competent board to take over.
Mike Wagner is on the MPOH board, MP rescue squad as an EMT and officer, MP economic development board, is the current Alderman of ward 1, MP community Foundation, past Humane Society president, and a CPR instructor for the past 25 years. I don't blame him for clearing a part of his plate....after all, he has 2 other beautiful obligations at home...
Thank you to all our selfless volunteers in Mineral Point, but at this time, I will single out Lauren and Mike. Enjoy a little bit more personal time...
