Pointers handle Boscobel in three sets


Mineral Point's girls volleyball team set sail on the course they want to be on at Boscobel Thursday.
The Pointers swept the Lady Bulldogs as they rolled to a stunner in the opening set, 25-9. They went on from there to turn in scores of 25-20 and 25-19.
Blair Watters put down nine kills with Kennedy Kabat adding six along with two blocks.
Mallory Lindsey led in assists with 15 and served five aces. Ivey Lawinger added 13 assisis while Ella Chambers led the defense with 12 digs.
"It was a great overall match performance," said coach Tom Ingwell. "We had some good performances after coming off a close opener with Darlington. I am glad to see us get back on track."
The JV and freshmen teams also won three in a row. JV scores were 25-15, 25-17, 25-15.
