Add Upland Hills Health open house to your calendar

By Kasi Greenwood-kgreenwood@thedodgevillechronicle.com

By turning the pages of this week's issue of the Dodgeville Chronicle, you will have noticed that we added something special.
For the last two years, "there has been something special happening," at Upland Hills Health, our very own local hospital.
We took this project on for very good reason. We believe that the renovation to our local project was needed and that it will take excellence in healthcare one step further.
Each of us have personal ties to the hospital in some way or another. Life began for many of us there: whether it was still named St. Joseph's Hospital or Memorial Hospital of Iowa County. My hypothyroidism has gifted me many visits to the hospital- for my accident at the age of four, a sleep study at the age of five, and being treated for pneumonia at the age of six.
Fast forward a few years in high school, I remember taking my younger brother to physical therapy after he tore his ACL.
I also remember having an ovarian cyst rupture at the age of 19, and remember the exceptional care that I received. I wish I could remember the names of the nurses who took care of me then, because I am grateful to them.
I remember seeing the awesome cafeteria, while my dad and I were waiting for my mom when she had her knee surgery.
I also remember the great care I received for my gallbladder surgery-from the consultation appointment with Dr. Dachman, to realizing the golf sized shape of the gallstone.
When the chance came to help promote Upland Hills Health's open house (coming up on March 1 from 3-5), I knew it was an opportunity that couldn't be passed up.
I highly suggest adding the event to your calendar and congratulate Upland Hills Health for their great accomplishment!
