It was good to be outside for the first Dodgeville Lions Club meeting held not virtually on Monday evening June 8. It was at Centennial Park in the shelter closest to the pool. Using that shelter allowed us to social distance apart at the picnic tables there - 3 to a table. (see above photo taken during installation of officers) We had food served to us by the Lioness Club and it was good (for me) to have a home cooked meal. I hope more small gatherings can take place outside now as long as people are respective of others!

Bob, Terry and I went to Anita's in Arena for breakfast last Saturday. Terry and I split the cost of Bob's "big" breakfast in honor of his birthday the next day. That Sunday was to be the first of the summer Dodgeville Lions Club sponsored Antique Show and Flea Markets at Harris Park, but this one was cancelled. We hope to hold the August 16 show, but a for sure decision on that will be made down the road.

Actually our plan on Saturday was to go to Spring Garden in Mount Horeb, but when we arrived there it was closed. That will teach us to check out the internet or call first!

The first Dodgeville Knights Home Talent baseball game is supposed to take place at Centennial Park this Saturday at 1:00. The forecast is for rain, so baseball may not be played in Dodgeville yet!

Home Talen will have a concession stand at Centennial Park for the ball games. The home talent team has to pay for using the field at Centennial. The concessions from the stand go to help fund that team, their equipment and the umpires while the stand for Babe Ruth teams goes to help fund their umpires and equipment.

With things opening up more I've noticed the scanner is busier with accidents!

A decision on the DodgeFest that is scheduled to be held in Dodgeville August 15th should be coming soon. As of now I have mixed feelings on it. I know people are itching to get out and enjoy themselves, but.....

Before that, a decision also has to be made as to whether or not hold the "Pop Up Town Square" in downtown Dodgeville. Some things are being talked about still for the July 12-19 event.

Happy Father's Day to all you dads!
