Hennessey spoils Dodgers softball no-hit bid

Two Dodgeville pitchers combined for a no-hitter for six innings against Highland's High School Softball Team last week then Cardinal Myah Hennessey polled a home run to stop both the no-no and the shutout.
The Dodgers, behind home runs by Audrey White and Grace Borne, cruised to a 4-1 win however. Those came in the fifth inning to snap a scoreless game.
The scored their other two runs in the sixth. Annika Lord singled and Lucy Heimerl doubled her in. Heimerl scored on that same play on errors.
Lord worked the first three innings on the mound for the Dodgers. She didn't allow a base runner while striking out three.
White finished the contest fanning four and walking two and giving up two hits and the round tripper by Hennessey.
Highland's Grace Pustina went all seven frames for her team. She allowed seven hits and four runs(two earned). She struck out six and walked two.
