Dodgers split with Vikings on Suchomel's rbi single


Pecatonica's Senior Babe Ruth team scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth that stood up for a 4-3 win over Dodgeville in the first game of a double header Friday.
The Dodgers returned the favor in the nightcap when Joey Suchomel singled in Trenton Reddell for the winning run. Reddell had walked, stolen second and took third on a wild pitch before Suchomel came up with the game winner, a sharp single to right center.
In the opener it was the Dodgers who scored first with two runs in the first on a lead off single by Adyn Halverson, a walk to Sean Reilly, a stolen base and an outfield error.
They added a run in the second when Jayden Olson walked, stole second, took third on an error and scored on a hit by Halverson who was 2x2 to lead the Dodgers.
Cooper Fockler and Grant Roh had the other two Dodger hits.
Pecatonica scored a pair in the second on singles by Coy Ruegsegger, Dakota Doescher and Bryce Johnsrud along with an infield error.
The winning runs came in the fourth when Trevor Gilbertson walked, Devon Doran singled and Levi Paust walked before an error gave the Vikings their winning run.
Hunter Enloe started for the Vikings and Brock Miller got the win in relief.
Trenton Reddell took the mound for the Dodgers.
Pecatonica scored first in the second game when Johnsrud singled in Ruegsegger who started the inning getting hit by a pitch.
They added a run in the third on two errors and a sac fly rbi by Enloe.
The Dodgers got two runs in the third on a walk to Jayden Olson, an error on a sacrifice, a walk to Wyatt Oxnem and base hit by Tarron Bockhop.
Reddell's walk and Suchomel's rbi single in the fifth stood up for the win.
Drew Latterell went three and Casey Weier two for the Dodgers with Weier getting the win.
Easton Schraepfer, Ruegsegger and Doescher all hurled for the Vikings.
Dodgeville was rained out at Belmont Wednesday and attempted to make it up Saturday morning before rain ended it in the top of the second.
