We made a trip to 400 Springs at the House on the Rock Golf Course Saturday for breakfast. It was Terry Carroll's choice as to the place to go since it was in celebration of his birthday (last Thursday). It's always very good food there - the former owner of Break of Dawn that was located on the northwest side of Spring Green. Terry is a little over four months older than me. I'm the youngster of the group!

On the way back from Spring Green we received a weather alert for the Iowa County area. Rains began about 10:30 a.m. The weather report for the day Friday was to be over 90 degrees and partly cloudy and humid, but that turned to "a thunderstorm" in Friday night's report. The thunderstorm, with heavy rain, lasted for about 15 minutes with some light rain following, enough to wreck any morning happenings!

This Thursday through Sunday is the annual "Linden Frolic" with ball games and other activities going on each day. There's fun and games for all ages with an 11 a.m. Chicken BBQ and 2 p.m. parade on Sunday.

It's past the middle of July and schools are putting forth a plan to get students ready for the 2020-21 school year. Most schools have a plan in place, but it may change with how the reaction to the COVID-19 Pandemic occurs. There are still a lot of questions. What if teachers get sick? What if a student in school gets sick? - will the school have to shut down? What if a parent doesn't want his/her child back in the school building? It's going to be a trying time for everyone involved. The kids need the social aspect of schooling as well as the student part!

Friday is "National Cousins Day." That makes me think of all the amazing cousins I have spread throughout many parts of the US. Several are like sisters (which I never had) and brothers to me. I wish them all well and will have a drink (of water) on them on their day!

Speaking of water. That was what I was told to drink more of after my last visit to the doctor's office last week. I thought I have been drinking quite a bit, but obviously not!

I made it to the Iowa County Cattlemen's Association Drive-thru Steak Feed last weekend. They had quite the setup at the Iowa County Fairgrounds in Mineral Point to get meals safely to people driving through. It takes a couple dozen or so people volunteering to make things like that happen!

Another stop I made was Sunday at the Ridgeway Farm Market. It seems to grow in vendors every week. (See above photo)
