Dodgers keep up the fight but lose to Evansville

The message Dodgeville boys basketball coach Matt McGraw gave the Dodgers before their non-conference game with Evansville Saturday was a simple one.
"Keep fighting."
And while the score did not end up in their favor the Dodgers did just that, wiping away the thoughts of a tough loss to Prairie du Chien two nights before.
The Blue Devils outlasted the Dodgers 58-44, taking a two point lead at halftime and putting together a 30-18 run the last 18 minutes. Eight Evansville players scored the second half, led by six from Trey Louis and five by Sulley Geske.
Geske ended up as the leading scorer for Evansville with 12 points and Seth Maag added 11. Both had seven points as Evansville took a 28-26 lead at the end of the first half.
Peyton Tranel drilled four three pointers in a 14 point first half and led the Dodgers with 16 points. Will Borne-Mumm scored nine, all in the second half.
"Today was a better game against a excellent Evansville team," McGraw said. "I am asking the guys to keep fighting and stay together. Losing is tough but overall I am proud of a lot of things we are doing. I have faith we will get on track by improving each day on the little things we can do better."
