Even when not 100% Mineral Point senior guard and UNLV recruit Isaac Lindsey is still a force to be reckoned with.
At Boscobel Friday it turned out to be Lindsey's high school basketball finale as he had surgery Monday in Minnesota.
All Lindsey did was put up 13 points in a matter of minutes in his good-bye to Wisconsin and Mineral Point high school basketball.
" In the last few minutes of the game Isaac knocked down a three, made an acrobatic shot at the hoop then hit a couple free throws before we took him out, said Mineral Point coach Dan Burreson who admitted it was a bittersweet moment for him and Pointer Nation.
"All the things he has done so well the past four years he did in his last game with us," said Burreson. " He has and will continue to mean so much to this program."
The good news now is that his surgery was a success.
"I am pleased to say his surgery went well and I am really excited to see what he will be able to do when he gets completely healthy again," said Burreson. "I know he will hit the rehab hard when he is able and his best basketball is ahead of him. I can't wait to see him play in a UNLV jersey."
As for the game the Pointers cruised to a 67-49 win over the Bulldogs and in typical Pointer fashion they used unselfish scoring and good defense.
"We had good balance with three guys in double figures.," Burreson said. "Joah Filardo again led us again with 22, Isaac had 13 as did Blaise Watters."
As the Pointers learn to play without Lindsey Burreson sees the team working to remain a force in the SWAL
"We continue to get better on the defensive end of the floor and that has been a big part of our focus," Burreson said.

If anyone wonders how competitive the Pointers will be without Isaac Lindsey the question was answered Monday night.
All the Pointers did was take apart the defending Division 4 state champ New Glarus as they worked their way to a 67-44 win.
Three Pointers got into double figures with Joah Filardo and Liam Stumpf the leaders with 14 and Justin Baehler with 10.
Really good balance tonight with 4 guys in double Liam Stumpf and Joah Filardo had 14 each, Blaise Watters 13 and Justin Baehler 10. With liberal playing time eight Pointers scored.
"It was great to have so many guys contribute tonight," Burreson said. "We had really good performances from Grant Bossert along with Cameron Wiegman and Grady Gorgen off the bench."
Besides being one of the Mineral Point scoring leaders, Filardo also worked over the boards for nine rebounds.
