Dodger girls pick things up the second half

A slow start at Lancaster is nothing new for the Dodgeville girls basketball team and last Thursday was no different.
The Dodgers chugged out a 29-27 halftime lead before they kicked it into a higher gear the second half and raced to a 67-59 win in the SWC match-up.
Olivia Argall led the Dodgers with 22 points, going 10 for 11 from the free throw line. Amanda Ludwig and AJ Phillips both contributed 11 to give the Dodgers three in double figures.
"We started a little slow, but we usually do at Lancaster. That has been a tough place for us to play for some reason for a long time," said coach Josh Busch.
But the Dodgers kept battling and found a way to "get it done."
"I was really happy with how the girls fought through the tough start," Busch added. "We found the energy that we have been playing with for the past few weeks. We were about to share the ball pretty well and made some threes that made up for our slow start."
Three pointers came from JoJo Heimerl and Amanda Ludwig who hit a pair each and Grace Borne who added one.
The Dodgers regrouped at halftime.
"In the second half we started really well out of the locker room," Busch said. "Defensively we picked up our intensity and were able to turn some steals into points. We got into some foul trouble in the second half and kids who have not had much time really stepped up and played well for us. I thought this was a great team win, these girls really are starting to figure out what it means to be a team. They are communicating and building each other up which is fun to see and I hope we can continue to grow in this aspect."
