Everyone braced for the "huge" snowstorm we were to get from Friday night into Sunday with the possibility of a foot of snow and some ice. Well, we DIDN'T GET IT! I'm guessing we maybe received 2 inches of snow. There was a little ice as there was rain in the air for awhile with the snow following. Events were moved to earlier times on Saturday morning with some being cancelled altogether. I left the office about 3:00 Saturday afternoon and saw about a dozen snowflakes then and figured "here it comes." I was at home and kept looking out of a window to see how much snow we were getting, but I found out those dozen flakes were the extent of that storm. We were supposed to get another round of snow in the evening, but that didn't materialize either. Don't get me wrong, I think we had the right amount of snow with the two inches, but it does get maddening to think there's going to be more, brace yourself for more and then get less! The photo above is what you DIDN'T see with this last snowstorm!

Our Saturday morning breakfast got moved from going out of town to staying in Dodgeville with the weather that was predicted. Bob, Terry and I made the trek to the northeast side of Dodgeville to Cafe by Country Kitchen. It was a good meal and we even were joined by owners Craig and Dawn Dougherty for some conversation. By the way, they also own the Platteville Country Kitchen!

Oh, and when I named off the 33 places we have had breakfast at on Saturday mornings last week, I forgot to mention two stops. We have had breakfast at "Cafe Kratochwill" with hosts Bob and Mary Kratochwill holding breakfast outside their home in Dodgeville. And when Lynn Price was Dodgeville Area Chamber of Commerce Director, she served breakfast at her "then" home between Livingston and Rewey. I will say that both home stops were adventurous and the food was pretty darn good!

I see there is a "SOLD" sign on the former Hardee's building on the north side of Dodgeville. I haven't gotten a confirmation on the buyer yet and don't like to print or spread rumors, but hopefully it's the food place I have heard it will be!

We're also anxiously awaiting the arrivals/openings of Prem's Meats on the northeast side of Dodgeville, Catherine's Market in the former Corner Drug Store building next to us and Steph's Sweet Treats in her new location at the former Kozelka Wall building downtown.
