Pressure defense earns win for Dodger girls

For the Dodgeville girls basketball team it was a case of the defense creating the offense when they faced Amherst in the Stevens Point Classic Thursday.
"We came out with great energy and made it tough for them with our full court press," said Dodgeville coach Josh Busch.
So tough, in fact, that the Dodgers led 28-18 at halftime and rolled to a 65-42 final.
The Dodgers started the game with a 12-0 run then moved on to separate further.
"We communicated and were able to turn some of their early turnovers into points right from the start," said Busch.
When the Dodgers were in their half court offense Busch felt the girls did a good job attacking and not just settling for shots.
"I felt we really put pressure on their defense," Busch said.
"I think our defense is what stands out the most as we start the second half of our season," Busch added. "I am happy with our effort on both ends of the floor and how we were able to set the tone with our full court pressure."
JoJo Heimerl led the Dodgers with 22 points and picked up four baskets from three point range. Olivia Argall added 17.
Syndey. Jostromski, a 5-7 sophomore, led Amherst with 16 points.
"I am excited to see how we build off this game," said Busch.
