Olivia Liddicoat sets new girls mark at I-G holiday tourney

Iowa-Grant's girls basketball team was able to forge a split and was able to witness a new record set at their holiday invite Friday.
The girls beat North Crawford and lost to River Ridge in their match-ups and in the meantime saw senior Oliva Liddicoat set a new scoring record for girls basketball, eclipsing the former mark set by Mary (Bunker) Schauff. It was a 23 year old record as Bunker-Schauff finished her career with 1370. After her two games Liddicoat is at 1396. She has 15 points to go to get to the overall I-G scoring record set by Isaac Anderson. The Panthers host Riverdale Friday which gives her a chance to set a new mark on her home court. It will also be Parents Night for the Panthers.
Bunker-Schauff was present to congratulate Liddicoat on setting the new record.
Liddicoat had 17 points in both games of the tournament.
The first game saw the Panthers cruise to a 65-25 win over North Crawford as coach Dan Liddicoat was able to give valuable playing time to his reserves.
"Lauren Linscheid was able to benefit from her time on the court with six points," Liddicoat said. "We had a lot of opportunities in this game to play people and they took advantage of it."
Logan Hubbard led the Panthers in scoring with 25 points
