Cubans too much for Panthers in SWAL test

Add one more to the list of hopefuls who have not found a way to pin the first loss on the Cuba City boys basketball team this season.
Iowa-Grant gave it a try but saw the bigger, deeper Cubans pull away and hang an 84-44 loss on the Panthers in a SWAL game Thursday.
The Cubans rolled into Panther territory with plenty of credentials. They are one of the few undefeated teams left in the state, sit atop the SWAL conference and are ranked number one in all polls in Division 4.
"They were the better team," said Iowa-Grant coach Ryan Hill but he was quick to point out his Panthers put up a good fight.
"It was not an ugly performance and was a better game than the score indicates," Hill said. "We had our shots adjusted by their length and we ended up not shooting well."
The Cubans also pressured the Panthers but to their credit, Iowa-Grant stayed away from the running clock until the last two minutes of the game.
"I feel we improved from the first time we played them," Hill said. "We kept them away from the outburst. The kids played hard and did not back down."
Kruz Kitelinger led the Panthers with 15 points and Michael Winders added 13.
Brayden Dailey put up 24 for the Cubans with Jackson Noll adding 15, Jack Misky 13 and Brady Olson 12.
