For all you Green Bay Packers fans, and those who aren't, here's something that could cheer you up about the "Big Game" Sunday that was spotted in the Boscobel Dial newspaper. "The Packers won't be going to the "Big Game" on February 2 after a pitiful performance two Sundays ago against the 49ers, who look tough to beat even though the bookies have installed the Chiefs as one-point favorites. A good friend of mine has two tickets for the 2020 "Big Game" in Miami - 50 yard line box seats. He paid $6000 each, but he didn't realize last year when he bought them that it was going to be on the same day as his wedding. If you are interested, he is looking for someone to take his place. It's at immaculate Conception Church at 3 p.m. The bride's name is Nicole. She's 5'4", about 115 pounds and a good cook. She'll be the one in the white dress!"

If the Packers wouldn't have shot themselves in the foot so often against the 49ers, they would've been playing in the "Big Game" next Sunday! But, still the better team (that day) won!

While I'm on a "very little" humor roll, the Thursday lunch guys - Terry Carroll, Bob Kraochwill, Denn Polglaze and myself - were at our usual spot in Dino's for lunch last Thursday. We ran into Joe Janssen, who was back for the Janssen Family Christmas from out west. He relayed that he was single, but had a dog. He said he had to change his dog's name due to confusion. The dog was names "Sit", but really had trouble following commands - like Fetch, Sit! That got a chuckle or two and maybe a groan!

For those of you wanting snow, I think we got enough last week. It came about two inches first, then one inch and then another inch. Most of it was mixed with rain, so it made the snow pretty heavy. There was a little ice and greasy conditions on both the roads and sidewalks too!

We did make it out of Dodgeville for Saturday morning breakfast last week. Bob, Terry and I made the trip to Highland even though the roads weren't the best. Bob drove about 45 MPH most of the way. While at Betsy's (formerly Grandma's Kitchen) we found the crowd wasn't what I usually is due to the weather, but there were serveral of the "regulars" there! We ran into Megan Adams, who was a waitress there that we got to know. She graduated at mid-term from Dodgeville High School and was leaving for college in Green Bay on Sunday. With her was my cousin Angie Reilly, who goes to high school in Highland and lives in Cobb. I hadn't see either one of them in awhile. I wished Megan good luck with her future endeavors!

When I got up Saturday morning, I looked out of my front door and the above photo is of the trees right across the street!
