Dear Editor:
During these unprecedented times, and now during a time of thanksgiving, sharing, and giving, let us be thankful for our local restaurants. They are our neighbors, our veterans, our families. They are businesses that have given and supported the many causes in our communities. They are men and women and youth.
Just think how lucky we are to have so many restaurants around us, some just minutes away from where we live. In Dodgeville, Mineral Point, Cobb, Highland, Montfort, Livingston, Ridgeway...just to name a few. All with wonderful food, and specialties, and quality...
Indeed, there are many causes and issues that have arisen due to the pandemic. However, we need to honor the resiliency of our restaurants and their owners and all their employees by supporting them as they have supported us.
Please think about ordering a take-out meal or pick-up meal...Or ordering food for a veteran, a family with illness, or a family whose employment has become limited due to the virus. Or think about a "No-Takeout Takeout Order," i.e. order your favorite food and purchase it- without taking the food- at your local restaurant.
I feel lucky that we have such great food options all around us. I wish all our restaurants - and all businesses - continued faith of their resiliency and commitment to our communities.
