Panther girls come close but Ridge slips away

Iowa-Grant's girls basketball team was within two of River Ridge at halftime but the Lady Timberwolves went on a second half run to win 42-29.
Julia Searls led the Panthers with nine points and Jackie Hawes added seven.
"Our balance was much better today," said Panther coach Melissa Martinez. "We did a better job with the tempo and I was happy with our defensive effort."
The Panthers stayed close an it was a three possession game until the girls were forced to foul and Ridge made their free throws. The Lady Wolves were 10 for 12 in the second half. They were led by Glenna Marshall with 13 and Ruby Brewer who netted 12.
