Don't ask for permission

Dear Editor:
Our family trust owns a farm here in Castle Rock Township with a gravel driveway which three private parties and the WI DNR can and do use.
We'd not done much maintenance on it in twenty years, so last spring we paid over $1700 for some gravel, a new tube, and ditching. We then billed the four user parties $200 each for shared maintenance which the three private parties promptly paid. I know the DNR got my bill because their "finance specialist" called me for a name and address so she could enter it into their vendor payment system. I told her it was on the envelope used to send the bill. Long story short, not getting paid $200 from the DNR is not going to break me, and I have now written it off.
Hunters, don't bother to ask for permission to cross our fields to get to the DNR property; it's not going to happen.
