Dodgers start early, finish strong to beat Baraboo

It seemed like old times for the Dodgeville girls basketball team Monday in their 20 point win over Baraboo.
The Dodgers outdistanced the Thunderbirds 58-38 with a pair of veterans regaining their shooting stroke. Seniors Olivia Argall and JoJo Heimerl put up 18 and 12 points to lead the scoring and chipping away for all of the Dodger threes.
Argall drilled one three late in the game that helped seal the win. Heimerl loosened the defense with a trey each half
"It was nice to see Olivia and JoJo get things going shooting the ball," Head coach Josh Busch said. He was also impressed with the third Dodger in double figures, his freshman daughter Marley.
"We got nice contributions from Marley and Maggie White," Busch added. "Audrey White and Emma Blume also contributed some good energy off the bench."
The Dodgers hit the floor running and bolted to a 34-15 halftime lead. Busch said that was just what the doctor ordered.
"I thought we played pretty well tonight," Busch said. "We got off to a good start, finished around the rim and took care of the ball early on. The girls did a nice job of bouncing back after our slow starts in our first two games."
Taylor Pfaff led the Thunderbirds with 12 points and Jadynn Gruner added 10.
Busch felt the win will help the Dodgers as they continue a busy Schedule.
"I am looking forward to building off of this game," Busch said. "I am proud of this group and how they have really bought in and play for each other."
