VOTE...SAFELY

Dear Editor:
In two weeks, August 11, the 2020 Partisan Primary Election will be held. But as a voter, with Covid-19 on the rise, voting versus safety is a concern. Please consider voting by Absentee Ballot. First, you must be a registered voter. Second, you must complete an Application For Absentee Ballot and provide a copy of photo ID.
Online - Website, myvote.wi.gov then click on Vote Absentee. Follow the prompts, check spelling and spacing in name. It has to match the poll book. You will have to include a camera shot of your photo ID.
By Mail - You can request an application by mail, email, online or fax. Online, you can download the Application For Absentee Ballot and print the form by going to elections.wi.gov then Main Menu, Absentee Voting. You can request an Absentee Ballot application be sent to you by contacting your municipal clerk thru a written request by mail, email or fax. You will receive your application by mail or email link.
Send your completed Absentee Ballot application and a copy of photo ID to your municipal clerk by mail. The last day to request an Absentee Ballot by mail is the Thursday before the Election, August 6, 2020. You will receive your ballot by mail once your municipal clerk receives your application and copy of photo ID.
Lastly, this step is very important, once your ballot is completed you will need a witness to verify that it is your ballot being placed in the provided envelope. After sealing the envelope, you must sign the envelope in the presence of your witness, and he/she must sign and provide his/her address. The envelope must be received by the municipal clerk by the end of Election day, August 11, 2020 no later than 8:00 PM. The ballot is separated from the envelope, processed, and counted on Election Day.
