Did you know that:
One in 4 pregnancies end in a loss through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, or stillbirth
An equivalent of approximately 2,000 pregnancies are lost a day in the U.S.
Approximately 700,000 pregnancies are lost every year
To increase awareness, in 1988, President Ronald Reagan declared the month of October as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. In 2006, Robyn Bear enlisted the help of people from all 50 states to create a national day to help support families. This resulted in October 15th becoming the National Day for Pregnancy and Infant Loss awareness.
To help honor those babies, Babies Gone Too Soon, Inc. is holding a candle lighting and memorial ceremony on Tuesday, Oct 15th at the Dodgeville United Methodist Church at 6:30 p.m. Please join us there or participate in a world wide "wave of light" by lighting a candle at 7 p.m.
Babies Gone Too Soon was founded in April 2013 to provide support and resources to families in southwest Wisconsin who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss. With tremendous support from the community, the organization has been able to establish a local support group, donate 6 Cuddle Cot cooling systems, provide miscarriage packets to local clinics, support ongoing stillbirth research, send grieving families to Faith's Lodge, provide memorial boxes to local hospitals, provide health care grief and loss training to local nurses, and established the Angel Fund for medical and funeral expenses.
Our babies are gone, but are never out of or thoughts or out of our hearts. Please help us break the silence.
