Thanksgiving reminds us to give thanks and that reminds me about giving to others. A good day to help others is Giving Tuesday, Dec. 3. That's a great day to give to United Fund of Iowa County. There are children, seniors and families right here in our own county that count on your support. You can write one check to the United Fund of Iowa County at P.O. Box 63, Dodgeville, WI 53533 and let them distribute the funds to more than 30 programs. One advantage to giving to UFIC is that organizations will apply for grants by January 6, 2020 explaining their targeted needs so your gifts will fulfill specific needs. Some needs are ongoing such as Music for Seniors, summer library programs, or the SUN program. Some are very specific such as gear for the EMT's in Hollandale or a scholarship of need at Southwest Tech. You would consider each one worthy of support.
