If there ever is going to be a time when just showing up makes all the difference, the Public Service Commission's Public Hearings regarding the high-voltage Cardinal Hickory transmission line are it! These hearings are the public's last opportunity to weigh in before the final decision in September.
A huge turnout at these hearings will send a strong and clear message to the commissioners deciding whether or not to approve Cardinal-Hickory Creek: The public is paying attention!
Expert testimony in the ongoing proceedings clearly show that Non-Transmission Alternatives, like solar plus battery and energy efficiency at our homes, farms and businesses, will deliver benefits far greater than those promised by Cardinal-Hickory Creek.
Enormous, ugly, and environmentally damaging high-voltage towers are NOT the price we have to play for cheap, clean energy!
So grab your family and friends, make a difference, and come to one or more of these hearings:
-June 25, Lancaster: 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., Youth and Agriculture Center, Grant County Fairgrounds, 916 Elm Street
-June 26, Madison: 2pm and 6pm, PSC Hearing Room (S105), 4822 Madison Yards Way
-June 27, Dodgeville: 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., Dodger Bowl Lanes, 318 King St.
