Eagle hurlers fan every out in first game win

Fifteen up, 15 down, 15 strikeouts.
That was how Barneveld was able to cruise to a 14-0 win in their non-conference opener over LaFarge in a game played at Mauston's Woodside.
Two freshmen and a sophomore took the mound to stymie LaFarge. Luke Herricks tossed the first three and walked away with nine strikeouts. Chase Ignatius went the next frame and fanned three before sophomore Trendon Barsness came on to send the last three to the bench via the strikeout route.
To go with the 15 strikeouts the Eagles also slammed out 11 hits and stole 13 bases.
"We hit and ran all up and down the line-up," said coach Lance Schmitz.
Reece Peterson had a triple on errors and three rbis for the Eagles. Will Arneson was 3x4 with a double and two rbis. Alex Johnson was 2x2 and Barsness 2x3.
"It was a good win in our first game of the year," said Schmitz.
The Eagles are planning to be back at Mauston Friday and will play Kickapoo in another non-conference game.
