Knights handed a pair of losses by Reedsburg, S/B

One sore arm and one swing of the bat by Fever third baseman Justin Crotty was enough to give the Dodgeville Knights a Western Section loss Sunday.
The Shullsburg/Benton Fever turned back the Knights 8-3 in the crossover game, aided by a three run home run by Justin Crotty in the seventh inning. Jake Green had walked and Jay Haldiman singled before Crotty's blast over the left field fence with two outs.
The Fever took advantage of three walks and a hit batsman to score the first run of the game in the third.
An error after two singles led to two more runs in the third.
The Fever tacked on two more runs after Crotty's round tripper made it 6-2 with two runs in the eighth. Again and error and a walk contributed to the tallies.
The Knights lost starting pitcher Cole Sullivan after 2 2/3 innings when his shoulder popped. Nate Michek was handed the ball and he worked until the ninth when Bailey Amble finished.
The Knights had eight hits in the game but only two through six innings as recent Jacob Berendes struck out seven and walked three. Nathan Hendrickson and Lane Kamps finished the game for the Fever.
The Knights scored twice in the seventh. Amble singled, Tanner Bockhop walked and Amble scored on a fielders choice by Jordan Olson. After Michek singled, Danny Sullivan drove in Olson with a single.
Austin Larson walked to open the eighth and gave way to pinch runner Josh Gorgen who later scored on a single by Jack Hellmann.
Michek was 3x4 to lead the Knights offense and Tanner Solberg was 2x4. Solo hits came from Danny Sullivan, Amble and Hellmann.
Cole Sullivan fanned five with Michek and Amble fanning one each.
Last Thursday the Knights were handed their first Night League loss in an error filled game with Reedsburg, 11-2.
The Knights scored solo runs in the second and fifth.
Brian Simmons singled, advanced on a walk to Amble and took third on a passed ball before Cole Sullivan singled him in.
Sullivan singled, advanced on a hit by Brandon Molldrem and scored on a hit by Austin Larson in the fifth.
The Knights had eight hits in the game, two by Cole Sullivan and Nate Michek along with one each from Larson, Danny Sullivan, Simmons and Molldrem.
Molldrem and Amble handled the pitching duties.
