Knights stay in Night League playoff picture


The Dodgeville Knights Home Tal- ent Baseball Team kept its HTL Night League playoff hopes alive with an 11-1 win at Cazenovia Fri- day night.
Tanner Bockhop started on the mound for the Knights and turned in one-run, three-hit performance. He struck out the side in the fourth in- ning.
Jack Hellman pitched the seventh frame.
Hellman, batted clean-up and was 4x4 on the night with all safeties being singles.
Jordan Olson went 3x3 and scored five runs while Dayne Leonard was 3x4.
Austin Larson, Bockhop and Bobby Noland each had one hit.
The Knights will be at Plain tonight for Night League action.
Saturday night, after a half hour rain delay, the Knights took on West- ern Section unbeaten Verona with the game starting at 4:30 p.m.
The Cavaliers showed why they are unbeaten with the long ball.

Sunday the Knights went to Belleville for a make-up Sunday League contest and returned with a 6-3 win.
Braeden Vivian went the full nine innings on the mound. He scattered eight hits and allowed three earned runs. He struck out five and walked one.
The Knights scored twice in the opening frame when Austin Larson singled and went to second on a wild pitch. Trent Jones followed being safe on a fielders choice with Larson scoring on an error on that play.
Jones scored on Jordan Olson's sacrifice fly.
Olson double to lead off the fourth and scored on Danny Sullivan's sin- gle.
In the sixth, Mark Ludwig walked and went to second on a wild pitch. He scored when Vivian singled.
They scored their final two runs in the ninth when Jones singled, stole second and went to third and scored on a fielders choice. Jack Hellman walked and stole second with Sulli- van driving him in with a single.
Olson was 2x4 with a double while Sullivan also was 2x4. Larson, Jones, Vivian and Bobby Noland each had hits in the Knights nine-hit attack.
Ludwig led a strong defensive day for the Knights with some strong play at third.
Sullivan's RBI in the fourth was a key hit.
The Knights wind up Western Sec- tion play hosting Pine Bluff/Mount Horeb Sunday at 1 p.m.
