Dodgeville team performs well at 15U State Babe Ruth Tournament


Eau Claire Red won the 15U Babe Ruth State Tournament held at Dodgeville's Centennial Park last week with Reedsburg taking the runner-up spot. Both teams earned spots in this week's Ohio Valley Regional to be held at Eau Claire.
The Dodgeville team finished 1- 2 after hammering Cross Plains 21- 3 in their opener, then losing to
Reedsburg 4-0 and to Green Bay 10-6.
Also competing was Eau Claire White. Pool play games were played Thursday at Centennial Park and at Barneveld's High School field. Single elimination games were played at Centennial Park Friday with the championship game Saturday morning.
The Dodgeville team put on a hit-
ting clinic against Cross Plains in the tournament opener collecting 15 hits.
Sean Reilly doubled twice and went 4x4 and scored four runs.
Dylan Wasley was 3x4 and crossed the plate three times.
Grant Roh had two hits and scored twice while Ayden Halver- son scored three times and had one safety.
Wyatt Oxnem, Jayden Olson, Dylan Rickard, Tarron Bockhop and Trenton Reddell each had one hit.
Reddell had the mound start with Chase Forsyth and Olson both see- ing some mound duty.
Halverson went four innings in game two against Reedsburg. He allowed three runs on five hits, all coming in the fourth frame.
Reddell and Olson finished the contest allowing just two more hits and one more run.
Forsyth was 2x3 to lead the Dodgeville five hit but scoreless at- tack.
Reilly, Olson (double) and Cooper Wiest had the other hits.
The elimination game against Green Bay was tied 6-6 until a four-run seventh led to the GB 10- 6 win. An error, four hits and a walk produced those tallies.
Halverson and Wasley handled the mound duties for Dodgeville.
Reilly was 4x4 with a double to pace the 12-hit attack.
Halverson, Wasley and Reddell all singled twice.
