Sunday I made the mental mistake of heading east towards Madison and going out YZ to Highway 151. When I got to the stop sign to get onto 151, I was the 13th car away from the stop sign. By the time I got to where it was my time to try to get onto the highway there were 22 more vehicles behind me! I made it safely onto the highway, but not before letting nearly 20 vehicles go by me coming from the east - way too busy of an intersection!

We hosted the 15U Babe Ruth State Baseball Tournament here Thursday, Friday and Saturday (morning). Even with the Thursday morning rain, games were done here by 7:30 p.m. I know several businesses that were very happy to see people in the area, some who hadn't been here before. We had several compliments on Centennial Park and how good the park is as well as the "great" baseball field!

Reedsburg was one of the teams in the championship game Saturday morning. One of the coaches is Tim Thomas, a Dodgeville High School graduate. He played high school ball and some Home Talent ball for Dodgeville. It was good to see him and his son playing here even though it was for Reedsburg! His sister, Amanda, was here watching too. She's a Spring Green resident now with her family.

The "Pop Up Town Square" that was between Union and Iowa Streets in downtown Dodgeville last week was a huge success. I heard a lot of people talking about it and the block was pretty much filled with people the entire week. It was a great job by a great group of people! Above you can see the Michael Mikrut & Dylan Dees Band with Maddy Olson.

I received word that a classmate of mine (1964) passed away June 23rd - Mary Ann (Rowe) Brown. She was 73 years old. Some people may remember two of her brothers, Virgil and Clarence Rowe. Also, Marcy Scullion, a sister, lives in Dodgeville. And Della Guar-raci, a sister, lives out of state and always sends a nice note with her Chronicle renewal!
I dated Mary Ann a few times while in high school and remember picking her up for our dates over by Centennial Park. She always had a smile and was a lot of fun then and at our class reunions. She lived in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin with her husband Richard. She had two sons and four grandchildren.
