Minnesota team too much for Pointers


Mineral Point's boys basketball team fought the snow and took a trip to La Crosse Saturday and took on a Caledonia, Minnesota team.
The Pointers held a 37-35 lead at halftime, but the Warriors came out firing in the second period for an 85-57 win.
The duo of Liam Stumpf and Isaac Lindsey offensively led to the Pointers lead at intermission.
Stumpf hit five three pointers and had 15 of his team-high 20 in the first half.
Lindsey put in 14 of his 19 in the opening half. He hit two from downtown.
Wes Berget scored six of his 12 points in each half.
The only other Pointer to score was Garrett Wendhausen., putting in six points.
The second half for Caledonia was the story of Noah King. The 6'1" junior guard for the Warriors amassed 20 of his game-high 22 points in that period.

Austin Klug, a 6' sophomore, scored 17 points, hitting a trio of three pointers in the first half. He added two more plus a bucket in the second half.
"Calendonia was very good and they shot it really well," Pointer coach Dan Burreson said. "We need to give credit where credit is due."
Ha added, "Liam Stumpf shot the ball really well. Issac Lindsey was solid. Garrett Wendhausen had 12 rebounds on the night."
"I thought Wes Beget did a lot of good things. Blake Wendhausen and Grant Bossert gave us good minutes off of the bench." Burreson concluded.
