Last Saturday was going to be a trip to Arena for breakfast with the "boys," but with the snow the night before and not everything being dug out yet, we made a detour to Barneveld to stay on the for sure plowed four lane highway. We arrived at about 8:00 a.m. and were the first customers for a sit down breakfast - there were two women sitting at the bar drinking coffee. We mentioned that we came all the way from Dodgeville and beat the "locals" there! A little later, a couple of Clerkin's came in. Then a few more drifted in. Some probably had to dig out before showing up. We had hoped to see Meg (formerly Jewell from Dodgeville), but she was a "no show" by the time we left. I usually email her to let her know we're coming, but this was kind of an after thought due to the snow! I had 2 eggs, hashbrowns and country fried pork with toast and coffee. The others (Bob, Terry and Dave) had food like biscuits & gravy, omelette and pancakes. We were filled up!

Wednesday evening I was heading down to the Red Room to take a few photos of the archery league in action. I was crossing the street and nobody stopped for me from the north nor the south. I waited until it was all clear to go across (in the intersection). I always say that people stop stopping for anyone in the cross walk after 5:00 p.m. Well, Sunday in church a fellow came up to me and confessed that he didn't stop for me in the intersection. But, to his credit, he said he didn't see me until he was going by me. My clothes were too dark - and they were. I have a pair of shoes that the soles glow in the dark and I wasn't wearing them that night - My bad!

The Wisconsin Badgers men's basketball team had a huge win last weekend when they took down previously unbeaten and #2 ranked Michigan. They finally played a complete game and played the way they are capable of playing! Kudos to Cobb's own Greg Gard and company!

This Sunday the UW Badgers women's basketball team takes on Nebraska at the Kohl Center in Madison. This marks the return of Barneveld's own Hannah Whitish to play in Wisconsin. Hannah starts for the Cornhuskers. Former Dodgeville and Beaver Dam player, Kara Crowley, is on the Badgers squad!

With the eight inches of snow we got here, I wanted to show off the way I take care of snow. I have never run a snowblower. But, the person shown is not me!
