We always like good news
For a quick recap, Closs is a teenager that grew up in Barron, WI. After the alleged perpetrator viciously murdered her parents, he held her captive for almost three months, leaving her in fear for her life.
As weeks went by, I admittedly feared the worst. It breaks my heart everytime watching the news that another child has been taken from their home, sometimes with the outcome that they may never come back.
At the same time, I prayed that Closs would come home. Thankfully my prayers, along with millions of others, have been answered.
This is good news...no scratch that, this is great news!
Now comes the next step for Closs. It comes with no surprise that she has a long road of recovery ahead of her. She needs her friends, her family, and school peers alongside her during that recovery.
What she doesn't need is people stopping her at every corner asking the whos, whats, whens, wheres and whys about her abduction. It is a good way to overwhelm an already overwhelmed child, who has been through so much that many will never understand.
The most important thing that comes out of this situation is that she is home, and is safe.
And that, is also good news.
