Dodgeville boys held a 23-22 lead at the half, but couldn't keep up that same pace the second half in a 59-45 loss at Lancaster Friday night.
The entire first half was close with Dodger Adam Phillips hitting 10 points that included a pair of three pointers.
Arrow Dawson Bowen kept his team in it with a pair of three pointers and 15 points.
Lancaster took their first lead of the game four minutes into the second half at 27-25.
With 12:33 to play the two teams were knotted at 30-30.
With 4:01 to play, Lancaster held a 48-40 lead.
The Dodgers pulled to within 48-45 with 2:45 to play in the game but did not score a point the rest of the way.
Lancaster closed out the contest with an 11-0 scoring run and converted on seven of 12 from the free throw line.
Bowen finished the night the game's leading scorer with 23 points
Cole Kreul added 13 with 11 coming in the second half and Hayden Knapp hit 10 with seven in the second half.
Phillips led the Dodger offense with 17 points.
Noah Blalock added 12 with eight coming in period two.
"We led a good portion of the game but when Lancaster made their run midway through the second half we didn't have an answer," Dodgeville coach Matt McGraw said. "We had trouble locking down Bowen and had to many missed opportunities to get stops in critical times late in the game."
He added, "The opportunities were there as we were forcing missed shots and getting defensive tips. It just seemed we couldn't come up with any of them especially when we really needed to."
